The Institute of Intelligent Systems and Artificial Intelligence at Nazarbayev University (NUISSAI) has launched Oylan, a powerful language-vision model that processes images and text in Kazakh, English, and Russian.
Trained on Kazakhstan’s largest dataset—over 10 million images and 50 million Q&A pairs—Oylan reflects the country's linguistic, cultural, and economic characteristics. Its dataset spans diverse fields, including image captions, visual Q&A, optical character recognition, document analysis, and problem-solving in mathematics, physics, and more.
The public can explore its capabilities through the ISSAI Playground (oylan.nu.edu.kz), which supports voice interaction. Developers can integrate Oylan into their solutions via its API.
