СARE
Computational & AI Research in Energy

Explore. Code. Predict. Impact.
The CARE Initiative is a free four-week online program that introduces high school students to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Running from 20/06/2026 to 12/07/2026, with live sessions held via Microsoft Teams, it brings together around 200 students for hands-on training built around real research data.

Across eight sessions, students move from the fundamentals of machine learning to building and evaluating their own models, finishing with a guided final project. The program uses published datasets from active research in energy and environmental science, so students work with the same kind of data used in real studies rather than simplified examples.

The initiative is taught by researchers from the INMET institute at Nazarbayev University and supported by a team of teaching assistants. Students who complete the program receive a certificate.
I-CARE Initiative
The I-CARE Initiative extends the CARE program to industry professionals. Tailored to working specialists in the energy and environmental sectors, it offers applied training in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Building on the foundation of the CARE Initiative, I-CARE focuses on practical skills that professionals can apply directly to their own work, using real research data and methods drawn from active studies. Dates will be announced.
