Monitoring of medicinal substances in waste and surface waters of the city of Nur-Sultan and its surraunding

The aim is a monitoring of pharmaceuticals in municipal wastewaters and surface waters of the city of Astana and its surrounding.

The tasks of project are to monitor pharmaceuticals in in municipal wastewaters and surface water in the city of Astana and its surraundings and develop a method for their determination.

Abstract

The main ways of pollution of biosphere with pharmaceuticals are municipal and industrial wastewater, which consists of broad spectrum of pharmaceuticals. The development of solution approaches of these polluted wastewater problems is important for Kazakhstan since wastewater from municipal activities returns back to nature after going through the conventional treatment procedures without additional activities on removal of pharmaceuticals. In this project, the main attention is paid to the monitoring
of medicines, since there are no published literature data on the results of monitoring studies for Kazakhstan. The novelty and relevance lies in obtaining data on the content of drugs in the surface and waste waters of Astana and assessing the effectiveness of their removal to reduce the environmental burden on the population and the environment. Ongoing research is of great importance in the field of water quality assessment for the conservation of environmental water resources, as well as for the adaptation of new approaches and methods of drug processing.
