Identification of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and microRNA (microRNA) in esophageal squamous cell cancer

2023-01-27 10:52
Aims: To identify and evaluate the expression profile of long non-coding RNA and microRNA in esophageal squamous cell cancer in order to find potential biomarkers for early diagnosis and treatment.

Objectives:
1. To collect clinical samples and clinicopathological characteristics of patients with esophageal squamous cell cancer.
2. identification of the expression profile of esophageal squamous cell cancer (RNA library preparation, validation of libraries and sequencing on the Illumina platform).
Study of differentially expressed genes, analysis of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and microRNA (microRNA). Evaluation of the expression profile of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and microRNA (microRNA).
4, Profile of mnRNAs by next-generation sequencing for esophageal squamous cell cancer (on the Illumina platform)

Abstract
Esophageal cancer is one of the ten most common and deadly malignancies in the world. Kazakhstan has a high incidence of esophageal cancer, with an incidence rate of 10.1:100,000. Esophageal cancer is represented by two main forms, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma being the predominant type. Characterization of genetic lesions is inextricably linked to the development of esophageal cancer and understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying carcinogenesis, therefore serving as a source for early tumor detection, prediction of the course of the disease, and development of new targeted drugs. Despite advances in diagnostic approaches, treatments, most tumors are diagnosed at later stages, and the five-year survival rate remains less than 30%. With the development of next-generation sequencing technologies, the RNA-Seq approach has become a powerful tool for comprehensive characterization of the entire tissue transcriptome.
