The Second Symposium on Emerging Materials and Devices Held in Astana

The Renewable Energy Lab recently hosted the II Symposium on Emerging Materials and Devices, a groundbreaking event that united the world’s most prominent scientists in the field of materials science and technology. This three-day symposium, held from June 25-27, saw participation from renowned researchers across the USA, UK, Spain, China, and Kazakhstan, resulting in a dynamic exchange of ideas and cutting-edge research.

Dr. Nurxat Nuraje, Chair of the organizing committee and Head of the NLA Renewable Energy Laboratory, highlighted the significance of this event, stating, "The successful organization of the II International Symposium on Emerging Materials and Devices signifies Kazakhstan's growing prominence in science and technology."

The symposium served as a powerful catalyst for international collaboration and the advancement of materials science. It provided an excellent platform for young scientists, including PhD, Master's, and Bachelor's students, to meet and exchange ideas without needing to travel abroad. This opportunity is crucial for Kazakhstan to advance its research capabilities and increase its visibility on the global stage.

Keynote speakers included distinguished professors such as Zhanhu Guo from Northumbria University, Ramazan Asmatulu from Wichita State University, Alina-Mariana Balu from the University of Cordoba, Luyi Sun from the University of Connecticut, Sarkyt Kudaibergenov from the Institute of Polymer Materials and Technology, Chuanyi Wang from Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, and Terence Liu from Northumbria University. They shared their research and insights with the attendees.

The symposium became a vital platform for knowledge exchange between international and Kazakhstani scientists, with representation from institutions including Kokshetau University, Karaganda University, KazNU, KazNITU, KBTU, and the Institute of Polymer Materials and Technology.
