Research Interests
Regulation of neurotransmitter receptors and brain function in health and disease, understanding the mechanisms of aging and neurodegeneration, development of new therapeutic strategies to neurological disorders. Dr. Tursonajan Tokay has 27 years of experience in the fields of biomedical research, clinical research and in Medical teaching at 3 Universities in 3 different countries: He was hitherto Associate Professor of Anatomy at Xinjiang Medical University (China), and Assistant Professor of Physiology at the University of Rostock (Germany). He has long experience in investigation on synaptic and neuronal functional plasticity in the context of chronic neurological disorders as well as neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Tokay is the author of more than 30 research articles relevant to this topic, published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and winner of 5 national and international scientific congress awards.
