Center for Energy and Advanced Materials Science

2The purpose of the Center is to develop and commercialize advanced and accessible energy related technologies in partnership with academia, world's top research centers and industry in accordance with the strategic priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Center strives to become a leading research center in Central Asia in the field of fundamental and applied physical sciences, advanced materials, energy and energy engineering, information and IT technologies, Natural Resources and Raw Materials for future Energy. The Center operates at forming of international scientific laboratories, strengthening of research capacity, the development of breakthrough technologies and support the education system at Nazarbayev University. The main partners are the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, Purdue University and others, which in turn facilitates the integration of national science into the international community.  

The Center has (1) Research Institute of Renewable Energy, Energy Saving, Efficiency and Future Energy, (2) Research Institute of Global Environment and Earth Science, (3) Research Institute of Computer Science.
