Inspiring Week of Gas Sensor Advancements and Collaboration

Date July 24 – July 31, 2023

We are excited to share highlights from an engaging week of learning and progress at the Laboratory of Advanced Sensors. Dr. Selim Acar, a respected Professor from Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey, led a series of seminars and work sessions from July 24 to July 31, bringing fresh insights to the realm of gas sensor technology.

During the seminars, Dr. Acar generously shared his latest findings and provided valuable guidance to graduate students, helping them refine their research approaches. Joint experiments with the Advanced Sensors team, led by Baktiyar Soltabayev, resulted to exciting new breakthroughs in gas-sensitive sensors using thin metal oxide semiconductors.

At the conclusion of the event, Professor Selim Acar expressed his admiration for the Advanced Sensors Laboratory, which is an integral part of the Center for Energy and Advanced Materials Science at the National Laboratory Astana Private Institution. Dr. Acar lauded the state-of-the-art facilities equipped with advanced sensor manufacturing, testing and characterization devices. He also conveyed his fondness for the city of Astana and expressed keen interest in continued collaboration.

The appreciation was mutual, as the staff of the Advanced Sensors Laboratory and the students conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Selim Acar for his insightful contributions, his willingness to share his experience and his dedication to advancing the filed. This collaborative effort showcased the power of international partnerships in driving scientific progress.
